Ed 422 intro letter
Hi everyone! My name is Becky and I am a second semester ICP student here at CSUSM. I was born in Huntington Beach, CA then moved to San Clemente, CA, where I attended elementary school at Our Savior’s Lutheran School. In fifth grade I moved to Vista and went to Lake Elementary, Madison Middle School, and Rancho Buena Vista High.
Technology still makes me a little nervous. I always feel like someday my computer or cell phone will crash and I will lose all of my pictures, documents, and numbers. I save everything over and over and over on the computer, then onto a disk, and to a portable hard drive just to be safe. I have a lot of trouble trusting technology, but I am trying to calm down about it. I have always stubbornly been a PC person, however, I might be crossing over to the MAC side. I am excited about learning more about MACs and hopefully learning to relax a little when it comes to technology!
The COE Mission Statement was not much of a factor when I applied to Cal State, but once it was introduced in my education classes, I was impressed with their commitment to “collaboratively transform public education by preparing thoughtful educators and advancing professional practices.” The more classes I take here at CSUSM, the more evident it is to me that they really are taking the appropriate steps to develop quality educators.
